Frequently asked

Questions.

How long does a full home renovation in Berkshire take?+

A typical SIB full home renovation runs 16–28 weeks from strip-out to handover, depending on property size, structural scope and finish level. A standard three-bed Victorian terrace in Reading or Slough is usually 18–22 weeks; a five-bed detached Edwardian or 1930s semi with rear extension and full re-wire normally lands at 24–28 weeks. We confirm an exact, dated programme in your fixed-price quote so you can plan accommodation and moves around it.

How much does a full home renovation cost?+

Every SIB renovation is fully bespoke — joinery, finishes, structural work and services are all specified to your home, so we do not publish standard prices. After a free site visit, Guri delivers a fixed-price line-by-line quote so you know exactly what every room, every tile and every electrical point costs before a tool is lifted. WhatsApp +44 7471 156 111 to book a survey.

Can we live in the house during the renovation?+

On smaller cosmetic refurbishments yes, with dust screens and zoned working. On structural renovations — re-wires, re-plumbs, re-roofs, steel beams, kitchen extensions — we strongly recommend moving out for at least the structural phase (typically 6–10 weeks). We help homeowners plan short-term lets in Reading, Windsor and Maidenhead to keep family routine intact.

Do you handle planning permission and Building Control?+

Yes — architect-led drawings, structural engineer calcs, planning submissions, party-wall agreements and Building Control sign-off are all handled in-house. Most of our projects in the Royal Borough, Reading and Wokingham fall under permitted development; for conservation areas (Henley, Marlow, Windsor) we manage the full planning application start to finish.

What areas do you cover for full home renovation?+

We renovate homes across Berkshire (Reading, Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Wokingham, Bracknell, Newbury), Buckinghamshire (Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield), Surrey (Guildford, Woking) and west / south-west London. Nationwide on request for larger builds.
